Designed with explorers in mind, the app features integrated geolocation capabilities that enable real-time tracking of your position, even within dense forest areas. Users can download offline map tiles in advance to ensure continuous navigation without cellular connectivity. Notably, it operates effectively in 'Airplane Mode'.

The app is replete with informative content that covers the characteristics of various mushrooms. Users can easily filter the map to display only tree species associated with a particular target mushroom. For instance, if searching for Morels, one can activate the feature to highlight Morel-related trees and use GPS coordinates to find nearby forest stands most likely to yield these mushrooms.

For those with a focus on forestry rather than mushroom identification, there is an option to manually toggle tree species on or off. The app serves as a useful tool for discovering established forest stands and aids in recognizing different tree types visually. Whether one seeks birch bark, oak acorns, sugar maples, walnuts, or hickory nuts, turning on specific layers eliminates uncertainty in foraging efforts.

Additionally, a layer featuring Land Management Units from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) allows users to ascertain which areas they wish to explore and identify any required permissions. While personal consumption foraging is generally permitted on most state-owned lands in Minnesota, confirming regulations is always advisable.
